Paramount Blvd Median Improvement Project
Pico Rivera was awarded a grant through the Federal Highway Safety Improvement Program (HSIP) for the improvements made to Paramount Blvd between Mines Ave and Holbrook Street. Improvements included landscaped roadway medians, roadway resurfacing, replacement of damaged sidewalk, upgraded ADA Curb ramps, drought tolerant landscaping with reclaimed water irrigation systems, and traffic signal upgrades and Paramount Blvd and Loch Lomond Drive. The project started in January of 2018 and construction was complete this June 2018.
Durfee Avenue ADA Ramp Replacement Project
The Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Durfee Avenue ADA Ramp Replacement Project was completed in February of 2018. The City replaced 25 ADA ramps along Durfee Ave from Whittier Blvd to Kruse Road. The purpose of this project was to enhance walkability, pedestrian safety, and to meet Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) standards for accessibility.
Citywide CDBG Sidewalk Improvements
Pico Rivera was awarded a grant through the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) program for construction of new sidewalk in qualifying Census Tract areas. New sidewalk was constructed along the following streets: Beverly Rd, Fernadel Ave, Ibsen St, Las Posas St, Maxine St, Paramount Pl, Rosemead Blvd and Slauson Ave. Additional Improvements included replacement of damaged sidewalk, removal of trees, replacement of driveway approaches and upgraded ADA Curb ramps within the project limits. The project started in February 2018 and construction was completed in March 2018.
