Images
of the past
Journey back in time through a visual history of Pico Rivera’s rich past with an archive of newly uncovered photos from various decades of the City many may find unfamiliar. The gallery features photos of field workers in sprawling acres of avocados, walnuts, and citrus groves that stretched across the two towns of Pico and Rivera in the early 1900s. As these images transition from black and white into color, they symbolize the drastic changes the area underwent after World War II, following the rapid housing and industrial development that propelled Pico Rivera into the celebrated community it is today.
